Role Overview
The Senior Software Tester serves as the primary quality assurance contributor for the system, ensuring comprehensive manual test coverage across complex business workflows and system  integrations.
The role focuses on validating system behavior, identifying edge cases, and  safeguarding release quality in a highly integrated and business-critical environment.Working closely with developers, product owners, and project stakeholders, the Senior Software Tester translates business requirements into effective test strategies and scenarios, performs thorough functional and regression testing, and proactively identifies risks that may impact system stability or downstream processes.
This role also plays an important mentoring function by guiding junior testers in test design, execution discipline, and quality assurance best practices. The Senior Software Tester helps strengthen the team’s overall QA capability and contributes to improving testing processes, documentation, and release readiness.
While the role is primarily focused on strong manual testing and quality governance, the Senior Software Tester may collaborate with developers, DevOps, or future automation engineers to identify test cases suitable for automation and support broader quality improvement initiatives as the organization gradually evolves toward automated testing and shift-left practices.

Key Responsibilities:
Test Strategy & Manual Testing Excellence
• Lead requirement analysis and translate business needs into robust test plans and scenarios, ensuring testing readiness and coordinating testing and UAT activities with relevant stakeholders.
• Review, design, and execute complex manual test cases (functional, UAT, regression, integration).
• Ensure comprehensive test coverage for all enhancements and production releases.

Quality Assurance & Defect Management
• Lead root cause analysis for defects; work with development teams on timely resolution.
• Drive continuous improvement in QA processes, documentation, and testing standards.
• Perform impact analysis and risk assessment for upcoming releases.

Collaboration & Mentorship
• Work closely with Product, Development, and Project teams throughout SDLC.
• Guide junior testers in test design, execution, and quality practices.
• Provide reliable QA effort estimates and test metrics for project planning.

Governance & Compliance
• Ensure adherence to IT, security, and regulatory standards (e.g., ITSS or internal controls).
• Maintain all QA documentation including traceability matrix, defect logs, and SOPs.

Preferred Experience (Good to Have):
Automation Testing Experience
• Identify test cases suitable for automation and support automation planning activities.
• Develop and maintain basic automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright or etc.
• Collaborate with developers and DevOps teams to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Support automation work as a contributor, while the full automation framework and pipeline setup remain owned by developers/DevOps.

Requirements:
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in software testing, preferably within the banking, financial services, or regulated industries, with exposure to cross-functional or multi-system projects.
• Advanced Diploma, Bachelor’s, or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business IT, or a related discipline.
• Excellent command of English with strong writing, communication, and stakeholder-interaction skills.
• Experience in designing, executing, and maintaining manual test cases across functional, integration, regression, and UAT cycles.
• Exposure to test automation with the willingness and capability to transition into automation-focused responsibilities.
• Solid understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile methodologies, and QA best practices.
• Proficiency with project and defect tracking tools such as Jira, ITSM platforms, or equivalent.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to assess test coverage, identify gaps, and conduct root cause analysis.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with developers, business users, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Basic working knowledge of automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright) and API testing tools (e.g., Postman).
• Experience working in environments with regulatory or security compliance requirements (e.g., IT controls, audit, or financial services standards) is an added advantage
