About the Role

Are you a compassionate, detail-oriented clinical professional dedicated to patient care? Family Health Centers is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant – Phlebotomist (MA-P) to join our collaborative medical team.

In this dual clinical and administrative role, you will work directly alongside healthcare providers to deliver high-quality patient care, manage clinical communications in Electronic Health Records (EHR), and perform critical diagnostic blood draws.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Clinical & Vascular Access:

    • Perform capillary, venous, or arterial blood collection procedures.

    • Execute finger or heel capillary sticks specifically for microbiological testing.

    • Carry out approved Medical Director standing orders and assist during clinic emergencies as needed.

  • Patient Care & EHR Communication:

    • Communicate clinical information, answer patient phone inquiries, and route provider notes accurately within the EHR.

    • Relay treatment plans and support providers in delivering effective patient education.

    • Proactively monitor and manage voicemails, EHR messaging queues, and emails in a timely manner.

  • Workflow & Professional Performance:

    • Work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced clinic environment.

    • Continuously prioritize tasks and adapt to changing patient priorities.

    • Ensure accurate timekeeping and manage scheduled leave responsibly.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Licensure: Active certification from the State of Washington as a Medical Assistant – Phlebotomist (MA-P) (Required).

  • Education & Training: High school diploma (or equivalent) plus completion of a formal phlebotomy course or equivalent structured on-the-job clinical training.

  • Key Skills:

    • Strong written/verbal communication and basic clinical math skills.

    • Proficiency with basic computer systems and EHR navigation.

    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to act independently within established protocols.
