Description

Role Overview:

As a HUD Certified Homeownership Housing Counselor, you'll be a trusted guide and advocate for individuals and families navigating the path to stable housing. From foreclosure prevention to first-time homebuyer education, you’ll support 40–60 clients per month with compassion, integrity, and attention to detail. Your work will empower clients to build stronger financial futures through personalized counseling and action plans.

Based in Lynnwood, Washington, we’re a non-profit organization working statewide to prevent foreclosure, guide first-time homebuyers, and support people with developmental disabilities through homeownership and financial education.


Location: 4720 200th St SW, Ste 200, Lynnwood, WA 98036 

Schedule: Full-time | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to new client inquiries via phone and email
  • Provide individualized counseling  and develop tailored action plans
  • Maintain accurate records in Salesforce and ensure confidentiality
  • Support Homebuyer Education Classes—manage registration, coordinate instructors, prepare materials, and distribute completion certificates
  • Stay current with housing counseling certifications through regular training and meetings


What You Bring:

  • Knowledge of mortgage origination, lending, and foreclosure processes
  • Strong analytical skills—able to review budgets and interpret financial data
  • Empathy and professionalism in all client communication
  • Comfort working with diverse stakeholders: mortgage servicers, legal reps, loan officers, mediators, and agencies
  • Excellent organizational skills, self-direction, and the ability to balance high case volumes


Technical Skills:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint)

Familiarity with Adobe, DocuSign, and Salesforce (or similar CRM platforms)


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience as a Homeownership Housing Counselor
  • 1+ year of experience in mortgage default mediation
  • HUD-Certified Housing Counselor 
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Bilingual
