TRANSITION ACADEMY WORK-BASED LEARNINGÂ
DAY CENTER RECEPTIONISTÂ
Reports To: Marketing and Development Director and Job Status: Non- ExemptÂ

DAYS/HOURS OF JOB: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and or Friday(Quarter 1 and Quarter 2)
** shift times before 9:00am or after 4:30pm discretion of WBL employer needsÂ
Shift 1: 9:00am- 1:00pmÂ
Shift 2: 1:00pm-4:30pmÂ
Duration: 4 weeks -12 weeksÂ
Job Summary:
Greet clients, families, caregivers, and other stakeholders. Escor/assist clients in and out ofÂ
programs and building as needed. Accurately complete all required documentation withinÂ
specified time limits. Provide administrative support for Day Program.Â
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Escort/assist clients to the recreation room.
• Coordinate all arrivals and departures in a professional, orderly, and friendly manner.Â
• Answer telephone calls, forward calls, and take messages as appropriate.
• Refer all communications to appropriate staff.Â
• Maintain current, accurate participant attendance information, update weekly.Â
• Verify accurate daily attendance.
• Obtain signatures from caregiver/families as instructed.
• Performa all other duties as requested by site Leadership Team members.Â
• Attends and participates in staff meetings, in-services and projects and committees asÂ
assigned by Supervisor.Â
• Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required or assigned.Â
• Clean and disinfect the receptionist counter, lobby chairs, end tables, phones andÂ
keyboards as needed and organize the receptionist counter at the end of the shift.
• Assemble information packets.Â
• Provide set-up for staff in-service.Â
Qualifications:
• Transition Academy student
Special Requirements/Knowledge/ Skills and Abilities:
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent typing, spelling, punctuation, and grammar.Â
• Good judgment, discretion, organizational ability, initiative, and the ability to workÂ
independently.Â
• Be intuitive, take the initiative, and be a self-starter.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook
• Ability to multi-task and act as a team player with a superior service attitude.
• Ability and maturity to handle confidential and time-sensitive information.
• Professional and cheerful with a positive attitude and demeanor
• Maintain HIPPA compliance.Â
• Final hiring pending on OSBI background check, clean driving record, CommunityÂ
Services Registry check, and pre-employment screening.Â
Education and Experience:
• High School Graduate or equivalent, associate's degree preferred.
• One year's experience in receptionist position/administrative support.
Physical Requirements:
• Bending, stooping, and lifting a minimal of 50lbs,
• Ability to push 200lbs (in a wheelchair)
• Good hearing and vision capabilities.
Special Requirements:
• TB test will be required for anyone working at the Day Center.
Additional Requirements
• Maintain CPR/First Aid certification.
• Criminal arrest check will be done through the OSBI; Per Section 1025.1 et seq. Of TitleÂ
56 of the Oklahoma statues, House Bill 1790, any prospective employee with a felony orÂ
misdemeanor conviction, guilty plea or plea of nolo contendere will not be eligible forÂ
employment. This prohibition may be disregarded if an appropriate waiver is obtainedÂ
from the Office of the Director, DDSD, Department of Human Services, or his/herÂ
designees.
• Community Services Registry check (House Bill 1790) will be done through DDSD,Â
Department of Human Services. The person whose name appears on the registry cannotÂ
work for A New Leaf.
