Job Summary

Thomas Scientific is seeking a field service technician to perform maintenance and service on industrial air compressors for our customers in the Minnesota area.  The applicant must be reliable, self-motivated, responsible, professional and able to interact in a professional and courteous manner with the customer they serve. This job is based in the Minneapolis area and includes daily travel around the state and into Western WI.

Job Responsibilities 

•    Perform maintenance and service on customers compressed air systems at their facility.

•    Troubleshoot and diagnose compressed air equipment and system issues.

•    Installation of compressor air equipment and accessories.

•    Maintain the company vehicle and vehicle inventory.

•    Complete all work orders and related paperwork completely and timely.

•    Maintain equipment knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, factory training, and reading the equipment manuals.

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities

•    High School Diploma or GED. Relevant technical degree preferred but not required.

•    At least 2-3 years experience in industrial repairs, maintenance and troubleshooting.

•    A strong mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and plumbing aptitude.

•    Must be able to use basic hand tools, power tools, and multimeter. All tools provided.

•    Ability to work on their own, diagnose and solve problems.

•    Safely operate in diverse locations and follow lockout/tagout and other safety systems.

•    Lift and move heavy objects up to 100lbs.

•    Valid driver's license and a good driving record.

•    Experience working in the air compressor field is a plus but will train the right person.

Compensation: Base pay of $28-$35 per hour, with additional earning potential through performance bonuses and commissions. Potential total compensation: $65,000-$75,000 annually.
