MANUFACTURING ENGINEERINGSUPERVISOR (Permanent)
Our client, a global manufacturingorganization headquartered in WNY, is looking to add a ManufacturingEngineering Supervisor to their growing team.Â
Responsibilities:
- Provideleadership, coaching, and mentorship to a team of Manufacturing Engineers,supporting their technical and professional growth
- Create andcommunicate performance expectations, priorities, and accountability measuresto drive team success
- Performconsistent one-on-one meetings & performance evaluations in order to creategoals and offer career development opportunities
- Strengthen teamcapabilities through development planning, cross-functional training, andincreased technical responsibilities
- Promote a cultureof accountability, responsiveness, data-driven decision-making, and continuousimprovement
- Accountable forManufacturing Engineering performance across key metrics: scrap reduction,yield improvement, OEE, equipment downtime, process capability, andproductivity
- Collaborateclosely with Operations leadership to align engineering initiatives withproduction demands and strategic business goals
- Lead processstabilization efforts and drive improvements to enhance capabilities and ensureconsistent manufacturing performance
- Conduct routineperformance reviews in order to prioritize improvement opportunities, identifylosses, and implement sustainable corrective actions
- Establish,maintain, and reinforce standard work practices while communicating clear areasof ownership & accountability
- Collaborate withcross-functional teams to effectively resolve process failures, recurringdefects, scrap, yield losses, equipment downtime, and other manufacturingperformance issues
- Championcontinuous improvement initiatives that enhance quality, safety, productivity, delivery,and cost efficiency across operations
- Evaluate processvariation, identify production constraints, and implement sustainable solutionsto improve throughput, capacity, and operational consistency
- Support and executeinitiatives involving equipment upgrades, tooling, fixtures, automation, andprocess optimization
- Identify costsaving opportunities and implement strategies while ensuring high standards forsafety, quality, and product performance are being met
- Mentor & train engineers to independently identify, solve, and prevent manufacturing problems
- Ensure a consistent presence is felt on the manufacturing floor to provide coaching, understand operational challenges, and ensure effective execution.
- Use data to prioritize issues, balance short-term production needs with long-term improvements, and drive issues to closure.
- Communicatepriorities, risks, resource requirements, and technical concerns clearly andeffectively across all levels of the organization.
- Work well in a team environment as well as independently
- Other duties as assigned/as necessary
Details:
- Position is full-time, direct hire
- 100% in-office
- Some travel to customer sites may be required (5-10%)
- $110,000- $135,000 annually depending onexperience
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or related
- 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing engineering role
- 2+ years’ in a leadership/supervisory role leading technical teams
- Expertise in Lean Manufacturing principles, 5S, standard work, Etc.
- Knowledge of RTDs, sensors, thermocouples, MIMS, aerospace products, or similar is preferred
- Professional demeanor and ability to interact with employees and customers
- Great interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong organization skills, analytical, and time management skills
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Self-motivated
