Job Details: Job Location: BuffSci - Clare St - Buffalo, NY, Position Type: Full Time, Education Level: None, Salary Range: $16.00 - $16.01Hourly, Travel Percentage: Negligible, Job Shift: Any, Job Category: Facilities, Job Title: School Cleaner (Custodial Worker)Department: Buildings and Grounds / FacilitiesReports To: Head Custodian or Facilities DirectorPosition Summary:The School Cleaner maintains a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for students, staff, and visitors by performing routine cleaning and light maintenance duties throughout the school building.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Sweep, mop, vacuum, and buff floors in classrooms, hallways, offices, cafeterias, and gymnasiums Clean and disinfect restrooms, restocking soap, paper towels, and toilet paper Empty trash and recycling bins and dispose of waste properly Dust and wipe desks, tables, counters, and other surfaces Clean windows, glass doors, and mirrors Sanitize high-touch areas such as door handles, handrails, and water fountains Set up and break down tables, chairs, and equipment for events as needed Respond promptly to spills and other cleaning emergencies Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, and supply needs to a supervisor Follow all safety procedures and handle cleaning chemicals according to safety data sheetsQualifications: High school diploma or equivalent preferred Previous cleaning or custodial experience preferred but not required Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Ability to work independently and as part of a team Dependable, with good time management skillsPhysical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and push or pull cleaning equipment Ability to climb stairs and use laddersOther Requirements: Must pass a criminal background check and fingerprinting, as required for school employees Must be able to work the assigned shift (for example, evenings or early mornings)Qualifications:
