Job DetailsJob Location: Buffalo, NY 14209Salary Range: $30,000.00 - $33,000.00 Salary/yearJOB SUMMARY (PART-TIME)   This position provides person-centered, strength-focused services in the office and a community-based setting providing peer recovery services.  Provides peer-to-peer support, advocacy, resource information, and self-help services.  Assists persons diagnosed with substance use disorders access community services. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES Primary Responsibilities: Connects patients to formal recovery support programs and existing social and other support services. Engage with individuals who are considering entering treatment programs. Encourages patients to attend treatment or other healthcare services. Assist patients develop care plans. Guide patients in self-monitoring their progress. Model effective coping skills. Support patients in advocating for themselves to obtain effective services. Assures the provision of consistent, non-judgmental, person-centered services that are strength-based and develop assets. Educate patients about various modes of recovery. Maintains accurate, up-to-date records of all contacts and collects statistical data. Complete data entry reports when required. Utilize an Electronic Medical Record. Completes all training(s) required. Additional duties as assigned. QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent New York State Certified Peer Recovery Advocate Certification (CRPA or CRPA-P) Experience with individuals with mental illness and/or substance use conditions. Prior experience with peer support services is preferred. Skills and Abilities:  Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common clinical documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the treatment staff and supervisors. Ability to effectively present information to clients, treatment team, and management. Ability to understand basic mathematic problems. Ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions. Knowledge of the basic principles, practices, and techniques used in medicated assisted treatment clinics. Must be comprehensive in carrying out treatment plan goals and document appropriate client interactions. Understand the principles of medical confidentiality. Physical Demands: Ability to speak Spanish (bilingual) when delivering services is desired Must have observation skills, mental alertness, and emotional stability.   To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily.
