Job DetailsJob Location: 286 - 16TH STREET - BURLINGTON, CO 80807Salary Range: $38.99 - $51.75 HourlyPOSITION SUMMARY: Provides professional nursing care to the Same Day Surgery Outpatients including pre-operative, intra-operative and post-operative care for surgical and endoscopic procedures. Aid in sterile processing and scheduling as needed. Assists physicians during treatments and examinations of patients. Administers medications per provider order. Performs other therapeutic measures either per physician order or as an independent nursing function. Observes, records and reports as appropriate the symptoms, reactions, and progress of patients. Provides patient education on illness management, disease prevention, and health promotion. Communicates with Providers, Nurse Manager, co-workers, as appropriate about changes in patient’s clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Ability to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.  POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES: Perform role of circulator in the operating room, preparing the OR for surgeries with all necessary equipment and supplies. Provide pre-operative care and conduct assessments and interventions to prepare patients for procedures. Provide post-operative care and assessments in the immediate post-operative period through discharge. Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current with surgical and sterile advancements. Knowledge of medications and medication administration based on age of the patient and their clinical condition. Performs patient care responsibilities considering needs specific to the standard of care for patient’s age. This includes pediatric and geriatric patient population. Demonstrates ability to perform treatments and provide services to level of licensure. Communicates appropriately and clearly to nurse manager, co-workers, and physicians. Demonstrates an ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations. Maintains a good working relationship both within the department and with other departments. Displays honesty and good work ethics. Interacts professionally with patient/family and involves patient/family in the formation of the plan of care. Documentation meets current standards and policies. Assists in orientation of newly assigned or hired personnel as assigned or requested. Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly. Actively participates in the Department’s Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities. Follows all Departmental policies and procedures. Follows regulatory outlines provided by the Colorado State Board of Nursing and the Nurse Practice Act, law, standards/or rules. Adheres to dress code; appearance is neat and clean. Dressed in scrubs on daily basis. Completes annual educational requirements as required. Maintains requirements, facility policy, procedures and standards. Reports to work on time and as scheduled; completes work within designated time. Wears identification while on duty; uses computerized punch time system correctly. Ensures confidentiality of patient’s records. Attends a minimum of 8 nursing staff meetings annually. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. Understand and comply with the laws and regulations governing my job activities and the ethical and legal standards set forth in the Kit Carson Compliance Program Plan and Code of Conduct.         QualificationsPOSITION QUALIFICATIONS: Current state Registered Nurse Licensure; ACLS, PALS and BLS certification; ability to read and communicate effectively in English; strong written and verbal skills; basic computer knowledge. Experience in the intraoperative or endoscopy setting preferred. Knowledge in sterile processing preferred.  PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  Force (lbs.)
