 Position Details: - Title: Special Education Teacher
- Location: Burnsville, MN
- Duration:Â Aug. 17, 2026 to June 3, 2027
- Onsite/Virtual: Onsite
- Position Type: Contract
- Working Hours: 37.5 hours/week
- Student Age Group:Â ECSE/Elementary/Middle school
Responsibilities: - Provide specially designed instruction and support based on student IEPs
- Implement behavior plans, classroom structures, and routines
- Support students with academic, behavioral, and emotional needs
- Develop and adapt instructional strategies based on student needs
- Monitor student progress and maintain appropriate documentation
- Collaborate with special education and general education teachers
- Coordinate and collaborate with paraprofessionals
- Participate in IEP meetings and other special education processes
- Maintain a structured, supportive learning environment
- Demonstrate excellent attendance and reliability
Qualifications: - Candidates must hold a valid Minnesota Special Education teaching license in at least one of the following areas: Autism Spectrum Disorders, Developmental Disabilities, Early Childhood, Emotional Behavioral Disorders, Learning Disabilities, Academic & Behavioral Strategist (ABS)
- Special education classroom experience
- Behavioral intervention and behavior-management strategies
- Experience with behavior plans
- EBD or cross-categorical settings
- Center-based special education
- Resource programs
- Strong classroom management and instructional skills
- Experience coordinating paraprofessionals
- Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills
