Position Summary:
The intern will work on a variety of assignments that will involve the administration of the best practices of the BCSO.
Â
Supervision Received:
Receives direct supervision from the assigned department head in performing duties in accordance with all best practices and established guidelines.
Â
Duties and Responsibilities:
Work collaboratively with the departments of the BCSO to ensure that the mission of the BCSO is upheld.
Â
Assist the departments with administrative tasks.
Â
Assists with data entry and filing.
Â
Participates or assists in events attended by the BCSO or scheduled by the BCSO.
Â
Job Competencies:
Must have good computer skills including Microsoft Office.
Â
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Â
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work professionally with persons at all levels and to maintain effective working relationships
Â
Ability to process and maintain confidential information.
Â
  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Organized with attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Working towards an associates or bachelor's degree (or graduate degree) from an accredited college or university with a concentration in Criminal Justice, Sociology, Psychology, Political Science, Public Administration or related area of study.

Residents of Barnstable County are preferred.
