We are seeking an experienced Liferay Architect with 8+ years of experience to lead the design and technical  direction of enterprise portal and digital experience solutions built on the Liferay DXP platform. The ideal candidate will own end-to-end solution architecture, define best practices and standards, guide development teams, and ensure that Liferay implementations are scalable, secure, and aligned with business objectives.This role is based in Egypt, working remotely to support the organization's operations and systems in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).

Key Responsibilities
• Define and own the overall Liferay solution architecture, including infrastructure, integration, and data
models
• Lead technical design discussions and translate business requirements into scalable Liferay architecture
• Architect and oversee custom module development using OSGi, Service Builder, and Liferay APIs
• Design integration strategies with third-party systems (REST/SOAP, headless APIs,
SSO/LDAP/SAML/OAuth)
• Establish coding standards, design patterns, and governance for Liferay development teams
• Lead Liferay version upgrades and migrations (e.g., 6.x/7.x to DXP, on-prem to cloud)
• Evaluate and recommend infrastructure architecture for high availability, scalability, and performance
(clustering, caching, load balancing)
• Conduct architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical audits across projects
• Collaborate with stakeholders, project managers, and UI/UX teams to align technical solutions with
business goals
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to Liferay developers
• Own security architecture, including authentication, authorization, and data protection within the portal
• Prepare and maintain architecture documentation, technical roadmaps, and solution blueprints
• Support pre-sales/solutioning efforts by estimating effort and defining technical approach for new
engagements (where applicable)



Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• 8+ years of overall software development/architecture experience, with strong hands-on Liferay expertise
• Proven experience architecting and delivering large-scale Liferay Portal/DXP (7.x preferred)
implementations
• Deep expertise in Java, Spring Framework, OSGi modules, and Service Builder
• Strong understanding of Liferay's architecture: clustering, caching (Ehcache/Hazelcast), search
(Elasticsearch/Solr), and content/document management
• Experience designing integrations via REST/SOAP APIs, headless APIs, and enterprise service buses
• Hands-on experience with SSO and identity integration (SAML/LDAP/OAuth)
• Solid grasp of front-end technologies: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern frameworks
(React/AngularJS)
• Experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle) and data modeling
• Experience leading Liferay upgrades/migrations across major versions
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for portal deployments
• Strong understanding of application security best practices
• Excellent stakeholder management and technical leadership skills
• Liferay Certified Architect or equivalent certification
• Experience in multi-tenant or multi-region Liferay deployments
• Exposure to microservices architecture alongside Liferay
• Experience with performance tuning and capacity planning for large portals
• Prior experience in a technical leadership or solution architect role across multiple projects
