We have opportunities for you.  Collins is looking for a motivated, self-starter to join our Canton, MA team as a Senior Structural Engineer. This candidate will have the opportunity to operate in a technical leadership role for a variety of highway and transit design and load rating projects for agencies including MassDOT, MBTA, RIDOT, RITBA, and NHDOT. In this role, this candidate will be involved with directing and mentoring a team of engineers in leading design tasks for bridges, culverts, foundations, retaining walls, and other highway and rail/transit-related infrastructure. This role is 3-days on-site.   Typical Duties and Responsibilities:   Responsible for acting independently on technical matters pertaining to their area of expertise.  Provides technical engineering expertise to project managers, engineers, and/or clients to ensure the project complies with all engineering standards, codes, specifications, and design instructions.    Reviews, analyzes, and resolves field and/or design issues.  Provides expertise in complex engineering computations involving conventional engineering practices.  Serves as the technical specialist on engineering projects of varying size and complexity in field or office in accordance with plans and specifications.  Responsible for engineering projects of varying size and complexity in field or office in accordance with plans and specifications.  Plans, schedules, conducts, and/or coordinates detailed phases of assigned project work.  Assists in coordinating project schedules and timely completion of projects.  Provides leadership to project teams and support staff.  Supervises all staff necessary to complete assignments.  Serves as a coach for other project engineers and technical staff.  Other duties may be assigned.    * Relocation is available  Click HERE to see the variety of benefits Collins has to offer. QualificationsEducation and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree and/or master’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited four-year university.  15 years or more progressive experience in project engineering.    Experience in the inspection and/or design of, but not limited to, bridges, roadways, railroads, marinas, and/or ports.  Maintains competency in and serves as major firm resource in field of expertise.  Professional Engineer (P.E.) and/or Structural Engineer (S.E.) certification.
