Finance Manager

Steering day-to-day financial operations for a prestigious school for 4 to 6 months, this executive leadership position oversees fiscal management, compliance, and strategic financial reporting. The role acts as a primary liaison to executive leadership and the School Board, establishing and safeguarding high-level financial controls, cash-flow monitoring, and governance structures.

A central deliverable includes leading the end-to-end preparation of the comprehensive budget for the 2027 financial year. Operating closely with the Principal, Board Treasurer, People Operations function, Finance team, and relevant budget holders, this position evaluates historical performance, forecasts operational revenue and expenditure, plans personnel costs, and performs strategic scenario planning to mitigate major financial risks. 

Key Responsibilities

• Assume overall oversight and management of the day-to-day finance function, financial processes, and internal controls.
  

• Execute direct cash-flow management, continuous financial monitoring, and approval processes.
  

• Deliver accurate management reporting and regular financial presentations to School Management, the Finance Committee, and the School Board.
  

• Oversee payments, accounts, and payroll-related financial processes.
  

• Coordinate internal Finance and HR operations with external service providers.
  

• Participate actively in senior management, Finance Committee, and Board meetings.
  

• Review existing performance and budget metrics to formulate the comprehensive 2027 operating budget.
  

• Drive financial forecasting, personnel cost planning, cash-flow projections, and scenario planning.
  

• Identify major financial risk factors and primary cost drivers to support executive decision-making.
  

• Compile and present complete budget documentation for formal approval by school committees and the Board.
  

Requirements

Essential Requirements

• Extensive senior-level finance management experience capable of operating at executive and Board level.
  

• Proven track record in full-scope financial operations oversight, cash-flow management, and internal governance.
  

• Demonstrated experience preparing comprehensive corporate or institutional operational budgets and personnel cost plans.
  

• Strong capability to operate independently and represent the finance function to executive leadership.
  

• Must have an Accounting degree / be CIMA qualified
  

• Must be available immediately.
