RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Registered Nurse to join our team. We are challenging the status quo by shining light on radiology and making it a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment. Come join us and shine brighter together! As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing quality nursing care to patients in outpatient clinics.

This is a part-time position, working about 23 hours per week, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 8am to 4 pm.

 

Essential DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(85%) Patient Care

  1. Explains procedures and treatments to patients to gain cooperation, understanding, and reduce apprehension
  2. Screens patient prior to procedure for any precautions or contra-indications
  3. Educate patients and family about pre, intra, and post procedure care
  4. Administers prescribed medications and treatments (i.e. contrasts and sedations) in accordance with approved standards and regulations for care
  5. Prepares equipment and aids Physician during treatment and examination of patient
  6. Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of patient
  7. Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or Physician of patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents
  8. Monitors patient conditions including vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess condition of patient
  9. Responds to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol
  10. Documents patient history and physical assessment for assigned patients
  11. Initiates a patient education plan according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by Physician and/or clinic policy including patient and family instruction

(10%) Department Support

  1. Participates in department or unit quality improvement activities
  2. Assists in establishing, evaluating and updating patient care standards
  3. Maintains patient monitoring equipment and nursing equipment
  4. Maintains medication reconciliation for expired supplies
  5. Completes weekly automated external defibrillator (AED) & monthly crash-cart check offs
  6. Keeps daily temperature logs of medication fridge and blanket warmer
  7. Maintains iStat (handheld diagnostic blood analyzer) log monthly, and upon receipt of new cartridges

(5%) Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required:

  1. High school diploma, or equivalent
  2. Associate degree in Nursing
  3. Registered Nurse with current appropriate state licensure, current and in good standing
  4. Two (2) years' nursing experience in a hospital or clinic
  5. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
  6. Current BLS and ACLS certifications
  7. Requires current Tuberculosis (TB) test
  8. Some travel is required between sites; a reliable means of transportation is required.
  9. Valid driver's license and proof of current insurance is required for the team member to personally drive a vehicle for company business (regardless of whether it's a company or personal vehicle)

Preferred:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Nursing
  2. Experience in outpatient radiology
  3. Bilingual
