Receiving/Inventory Specialist

Job Details: Job Location: Carol Stream - Chicago - Carol Stream, IL, Salary Range: $18.00 - $20.00Hourly, The Receiving & Inventory Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of a wide range of goods. This role ensures the accuracy of incoming shipments, maintains optimal inventory levels, and supports the seamless movement of stock within the warehouse. The coordinator works closely with internal teams to ensure that materials are handled efficiently, and that inventory is organized and recorded accurately. The Receiving & Inventory Specialist will report to the Receiving & Inventory Supervisor. Ensure all incoming shipments are received, inspected, and recorded accurately. Verify the accuracy of packing slips, purchase orders, and other shipping documents. Organize and store received items in appropriate warehouse locations. Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other order-picking vehicles to move and organize inventory. Conduct regular cycle counts and periodic full inventory audits. Monitor stock levels to ensure replenishment needs are met and avoid stockouts. Assist in the organization and preparation for annual inventory counts. Enter and update inventory information in warehouse management systems(WMS). Monitor and report on stock movement and discrepancies. Work closely with the purchasing to support order accuracy and timely receipt. Communicate with Purchasing, and any other departments to resolve inventory-related issues. Provide support to warehouse staff in day-to-day operations as needed. Follow warehouse safety and cleanliness standards.Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or relevant certification in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field preferred.Experience: 2+ years of experience in a warehouse or inventory management role.  Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).Skills: Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Problem-solving skills with a proactive attitude.Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand for extended periods and move throughout the warehouse.
