POSITION SUMMARY
 
Responsible for timely, accurate beverage service using exceptional guest experience.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 
 
The following statements are intended as an overview of key responsibilities of the work for this position and are not all inclusive:

  1. Provides next-level guest service to internal and external guests. Demonstrates the Cedar Crossing culture in all interactions with guests and co-workers.
  2. Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information in accordance with established procedures with company policy and state regulations. 
  3. Ensures compliance with all department and company policies, procedures, internal controls, and government regulations. 
  4. Responsible for creating and fostering an environment of support and motivation for Team Members.
  5. Greets guests in a friendly, professional manner and creating a welcoming atmosphere.
  6. Takes beverage orders accurately and efficiently, noting guest preferences and special requests.
  7. Serves alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages according to established recipes and presentation standards.
  8. Maintains thorough knowledge of the casino’s drink menu, including cocktails, beer, wine, and nonalcoholic options, and offer recommendations based on guest preferences. 
  9. Monitors guest alcohol consumption and behavior, following responsible service guidelines and notifies management of concerns.
  10. Verifies guest identification to ensure legal drinking age compliance.
  11. Anticipates guest needs and responds promptly to requests to ensure a seamless experience.
  12. Maintains a clean and organized section, removing empty glasses and trash regularly.
  13. Collaborates with bartenders, food servers, and casino staff to ensure smooth operations and cohesive service.
  14. Follows all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  15. Participates in promotional events and special activities, promoting casino offerings and enhancing the guest experience.
  16. Accurately processes cash and credit card transactions in accordance with established cash‑handling procedures.
  17. Resolves problems that are within the position's scope of authority and recommends courses of action to resolve problems that are beyond the scope of authority to the position’s supervisor.
  18. Keeps position supervisor informed of relevant activities.
  19. Other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
 
High school diploma or equivalent plus service experience. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered. Excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills. Basic math skills for handling payments and calculating bills. Basic computer skills and familiarity with point‑of‑sale systems.


SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

Must have ability to:

  • Communicate effectively with all levels of Team Members, guests and outside contacts.


REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
 
In addition to the other duties described herein, every Team Member has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations:
 

  • Attend required training sessions offered by the casino.
  • Obtain and maintain required license(s).
  • Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
  • Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the team member’s department.
  • Have knowledge of the Property’s programs to address problem gambling.
  • Consult with the appropriate individuals and maintain an effective system of written policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with gaming regulations and Internal Controls.
  • Take the appropriate steps to investigate exceptions, fraud, and potential violations and report such instances to the appropriate levels of management.
  • Report any acts of wrongdoing on behalf of any Team Member of which they have knowledge.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

Must have ability to:

  • Work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Move around all work areas effectively and efficiently.
  • Work long hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Sit or stand for extended amounts of time.
  • Physical stamina to stand, walk, and carry trays for extended periods.
  • Work in an environment with moderate to loud noise levels, may be exposed to secondhand smoke and varied light levels, including flashing lights.
  • Lift 25 pounds. 


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS: 

  • Serv-Safe Certification
  • Applicable Responsible Alcohol Service Certification

No supervisory responsibilities.
