POSITION SUMMARY
 
Monitor casino and associated areas using video cameras, computer screens, monitors, digital recorders, access control systems, computer dispatch, video printers, switches, selectors, and direct observation to insure compliance with all laws, regulations, policies and procedures.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 
 
The following statements are intended as an overview of key responsibilities of the work for this position and are not all inclusive:

  1. Provides next-level guest service to internal and external guests. Demonstrates the Cedar Crossing culture in all interactions with guests and co-workers.
  2. Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information in accordance with established procedures with company policy and state regulations. 
  3. Ensures compliance with all department and company policies, procedures, internal controls, and government regulations. 
  4. Responsible for creating and fostering an environment of support and motivation for Team Members.
  5. Monitors activities of guests and employees on the casino floor, cage, change booths and count rooms via closed-circuit television (CCTV) system and personal observation, for criminal activities and/or violations of regulations, policies and procedures, or internal controls. 
  6. Utilizes necessary equipment to identify, record and document illegal and/or unusual activities occurring in areas under surveillance and reports same to appropriate personnel. 
  7. Monitors all areas of the property, including but not limited to gaming and cage activity, food and beverage activity, and security of the facility and the entire property.
  8. Produces written reports and logs on any observed violations and illegal activity in a timely manner.
  9. Video tapes questionable activities and make written reports to appropriate personnel. 
  10. Monitors and records activities being conducted in and around the gaming establishment using video cameras, monitors, digital recorders, access control systems, computer dispatch, video printers, switches, and other equipment used for surveillance.
  11. Monitors all areas of the property, both indoor and outdoor for suspicious activity, health and safety issues, evidence of theft, cheating, scams, and procedural violations.
  12. Checks for blind spots and camera outage or tampering.
  13. Logs all activities observed by surveillance into the surveillance dispatch log.
  14. Understands and operates all Surveillance camera switching, reprogramming equipment, and use of all computer equipment.
  15. Controls Surveillance dispatch system.
  16. Determines call priorities and dispatches security, police, fire, traffic officers, maintenance, and facilities during emergencies as necessary.
  17. Dispatches Security officers as needed throughout the facility and monitor’s conduct.
  18. Maintains familiarity with all appropriate department procedures.
  19. Maintains confidentiality within the established guidelines.
  20. Resolves problems that are within the position's scope of authority and recommends courses of action to resolve problems that are beyond the scope of authority to the position’s supervisor.
  21. Keeps position supervisor informed of relevant activities.
  22. Other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED plus a minimum of one (1) year of related experience. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered. Good communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to manage crowds effectively. Computer skills including e-mail, word processing, spreadsheets, routine database activity, and record keeping are required. Basic knowledge and/or training in investigations. Ability to hear and speak and communicate on two-way radio. 

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

Must have ability to:

  • Communicate effectively with all levels of Team Members, guests and outside contacts.
  • Demonstrate organizational skills.


REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
 

In addition to the other duties described herein, every Team Member has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations:


  • Attend required training sessions offered by the casino.
  • Obtain and maintain required license(s).
  • Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
  • Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the team member’s department.
  • Have knowledge of the Property’s programs to address problem gambling.
  • Consult with the appropriate individuals and maintain an effective system of written policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with gaming regulations and Internal Controls.
  • Take the appropriate steps to investigate exceptions, fraud, and potential violations and report such instances to the appropriate levels of management.
  • Report any acts of wrongdoing on behalf of any Team Member of which they have knowledge.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

Must have ability to:

  • Work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Move around all work areas effectively and efficiently.
  • Work long hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time. 
  • Work environment may consist of a dark area viewing video monitors for entire shift. 
  • Able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

No supervisory responsibilities.
