POSITION SUMMARY
 
Responsible for the running of a table game in a professional manner. Protecting company assets by adhering to company policies and all state and regulatory compliance to include Internal Controls Policies and Procedures, the Responsible Gaming Plan and Title 31.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 
 
The following statements are intended as an overview of key responsibilities of the work for this position and are not all inclusive:
 

  1. Provides next-level guest service to internal and external guests. Demonstrates the Cedar Crossing culture in all interactions with guests and co-workers.
  2. Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information in accordance with established procedures with company policy and state regulations. 
  3. Ensures compliance with all department and company policies, procedures, internal controls, and government regulations. 
  4. Responsible for conducting operation of Table games with strict adherence to Internal Control Policies and Procedures and Game Rules.
  5. Protects the integrity of the game by closely monitoring play and enforcing rules in a consistent and impartial manner.
  6. Detects and immediately reports any suspected cheating, fraud, advantage play, or suspicious activities in accordance with internal controls.
  7. Maintains discipline of the game by controlling the pace of play, ensuring timely and efficient dealing consistent with company standards.
  8. Maintains knowledge and proficiency for all assigned games; participates in ongoing training and skill development as required.
  9. Adheres to all gaming regulations, including Title 31/AML requirements, and reports transactions or behaviors as required.
  10. Maintains game security by controlling access to the table bankroll and preventing unauthorized handling of chips or cards.
  11. Assists in mentoring or training new dealers as assigned.
  12. Announces all game actions clearly and audibly in accordance with established dealing procedures.
  13. Ensures proper game setup, including verification of table inventory, equipment, and signage prior to the beginning of shift.
  14. Ensures proper documentation of any presented pit paperwork (fills, markers etc.).
  15. Responsible for accuracy of table bank.
  16. Explains rules and answers questions for guests.
  17. Notifies shift supervisor of irregularities in customers play.
  18. Maintains a clean and safe environment.
  19. Responsible for attending to guests needs.
  20. Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs. 
  21. Effectively handles customer concerns and requests.
  22. Resolves problems that are within the position's scope of authority and recommends courses of action to resolve problems that are beyond the scope of authority to the position’s supervisor.
  23. Keeps position supervisor informed of relevant activities.
  24. Other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or GED required. Experience in cash handling preferred. Experience in Microsoft Office applications and menu-driven programs preferred. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered. Must have a willingness to learn new tasks.


SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

Must have ability to:

  • Read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of Team Members, guests and outside contacts.
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced environment.


REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
 
In addition to the other duties described herein, every Team Member has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations:

  • Attend required training sessions offered by the casino.
  • Obtain and maintain required license(s).
  • Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
  • Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the team member’s department.
  • Have knowledge of property programs to address problem gambling.
  • Consult with the appropriate individuals and maintain an effective system of written policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with gaming regulations and Internal Controls.
  • Take the appropriate steps to investigate exceptions, fraud, and potential violations and report such instances to the appropriate levels of management.
  • Report any acts of wrongdoing on behalf of any Team Member of which they have knowledge.


WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Must have ability to:

  • Move around all work areas effectively and efficiently.
  • Lift, push, and pull up to 25 pounds.
  • Work with other Team Members in moving the box cart with a maximum of 400lbs.
  • Work long hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Work in an environment with moderate to loud noise levels, may be exposed to secondhand smoke and varied light levels, including flashing lights. 
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend for entire shift.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS: 

Iowa Racing & Gaming Commission License
