POSITION SUMMARY
 
Responsible for serving food and beverages, engaging with guests, and contributing to an exceptional casino experience. Strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and adherence to food safety service standards.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 
 
The following statements are intended as an overview of key responsibilities of the work for this position and are not all inclusive:

  1. Provides next-level guest service to internal and external guests. Demonstrates the Cedar Crossing culture in all interactions with guests and co-workers.
  2. Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information in accordance with established procedures with company policy and state regulations. 
  3. Ensures compliance with all department and company policies, procedures, internal controls, and government regulations. 
  4. Responsible for creating and fostering an environment of support and motivation for Team Members. 
  5. Consistently provide excitement and deliver excellent customer service.
  6. Comply with department standards, guidelines and objectives to include adherence to all Food Service and Sanitation, OSHA and Hazcom standards and guidelines. 
  7. Provide consistent high quality food and beverage service to all guests dining in the restaurants by adhering to sequence of service standards completely and correctly. Utilize "upselling" techniques. 
  8. Operate the Point of Sale System according to training provided. 
  9. Practice all alcohol awareness policies and procedures. 
  10. Have complete knowledge and understanding of restaurant and bar menus. 
  11. Participate in departmental cross-training exercises to learn shoulder job duties such as Hostess or Bus Person. 
  12. Clean as you go, clean spills immediately. 
  13. Use chemicals as prescribed and responsibly. Ensure that all chemicals are in properly labeled containers. 
  14. Assist the supervisor in putting supplies away.
  15. Resolves problems that are within the position's scope of authority and recommends courses of action to resolve problems that are beyond the scope of authority to the position’s supervisor.
  16. Keeps position supervisor informed of relevant activities. 
  17. Other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
 
High school diploma or equivalent required; prior food service experience preferred. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered. Ability to read instructions and correspondence/memos. Attention to detail and accuracy. Interpret and follow through on a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.


SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

Must have ability to:

  • Communicate effectively with all levels of Team Members, guests and outside contacts.


REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
 
In addition to the other duties described herein, every Team Member has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations:


  • Attend required training sessions offered by the casino.
  • Obtain and maintain required license(s).
  • Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
  • Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the team member’s department.
  • Have knowledge of the Property’s programs to address problem gambling.
  • Consult with the appropriate individuals and maintain an effective system of written policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with gaming regulations and Internal Controls.
  • Take the appropriate steps to investigate exceptions, fraud, and potential violations and report such instances to the appropriate levels of management.
  • Report any acts of wrongdoing on behalf of any Team Member of which they have knowledge.



WORK ENVIRONMENT

Must have ability to:

  • Work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Move around all work areas effectively and efficiently.
  • Work long hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Sit or stand for extended amounts of time.
  • Physical stamina to stand, walk, and carry trays for extended periods.
  • Work in an environment with moderate to loud noise levels, may be exposed to secondhand smoke and varied light levels, including flashing lights.
  • Lift 25 pounds. 


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS: 

  • Serv-Safe Certification
  • Applicable Responsible Alcohol Serving Certification


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

No supervisory responsibilities.
