Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:
- Responsible for designing, developing, testing and supporting of Critical Working Capital Finance applications using Java microservices, Spring Boot, Postgres, Kafka and modern cloud-native architectures.
- Does not wait around to be given directions and “stories”, but rather independently responds to all business needs,  emails, Teams Messages and deadlines in order to make the system and workplace better.
- Analyses all possible scenarios, asks questions about whether any scenarios were missed, designs, codes and tests for all scenarios both happy path and not-so-happy path 
- Analyses, designs, codes, tests not just for today’s volumes but for hoped for, expected-some-day volumes
- Deeply debugs any testing or production issues. Not just looks for error messages. Understands and learns expected behavior, why it did not behave correctly, when it started behaving incorrectly. All of this without being told every step of the way.
- Accountable for ensuring all aspects of product development follow compliance and security best practices 

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience
- Six to eight years of relevant experience

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Hand-on experience developing enterprise applications with Java 17+ and object-oriented programming principles
  • Strong expertise in Spring Boot, Spring Framework, dependency injection, REST APIs, security, and core Spring ecosystem fundamentals.
  • Hands-on experience with MQ / Kafka, messaging platforms, event-driven architecture, and asynchronous system integration patterns.
  • Proven experience building and deploying microservices architectures in public cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Strong experience with CI/CD tools including Jenkins, CloudBees, or equivalent enterprise pipeline technologies.
  • Experience with build and dependency management tools, preferably Maven (Gradle acceptable).
  • Advanced knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, and DB2, with expertise in data modeling, performance tuning, and SQL optimization.
  • Strong understanding of software design patterns, system integration, API development, secure coding practices, and Agile delivery methodologies.
  • Experience with Spring Data JPA, Hibernate, or MyBatis - nice to have
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes deployment, container orchestration, and configuration management.
  • Experience implementing secrets management and application security best practices.
  • Exposure to React and modern front-end development frameworks.
  • Experience working within financial services, banking, lending, treasury, or Working Capital Finance domains, preferred

Location expectations 
This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $126,820.00 - $149,200.00
