In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the procurement of materials, equipment, and services required for projects during preconstruction, buyout, and change management. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Review equipment lists and drawings for scope alignment.
  • Assist with creation of bid lists and research of qualified vendors.
  • Manage the prequalification process, including assisting the team with vendor risk evaluations.
  • Support closeout of all procurement-related activities and vendor management.
  • Review proposals and select or recommend vendors based on gathered information; recommend improvements to procurement processes and procedures.
  • Assist project teams and Sourcing Management in negotiating vendor terms and conditions.
  • Understand and highlight purchase-related risks to project teams.
  • Assist project teams with placement of orders.
  • Coordinate with project teams, including Estimators, Preconstruction Managers, Subject Matter Experts, Design Team members, and Project Management.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendor partners.
  • Create and use cost codes and budgets.

Education & Years of Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Minimum of three years of progressive experience in procurement, engineering, construction, estimating, or a related field is required. Five or more years of relevant experience is preferred.

To thrive in this role, you'll need:

  • Previous experience in the AEC industry preferred.
  • Proficiency in contract negotiations and reviewing terms and conditions.
  • Experience with Procore software preferred.
  • Good communication skills, including verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, are essential for this position.
  • Understanding of basic business principles such as contract language, insurance certificates, commercial terms and conditions, logistics, and freight terms is required for this position.
  • Proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements: 

 

While performing the duties of this job, team members may be required to visit alternate locations and therefore must have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to do so. This position requires the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10 - 50 pounds. Requires good hand - eye coordination, arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information. The team member is frequently required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
