Overview

History and spectacular landscapes come together, at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Celebrated landmarks, including Thomas Jefferson's Monticello and the University of Virginia, are clustered here among swathes of the East Coast's most beautiful scenery. The region is also home to over 25 wineries, breweries and cideries. 

This is the setting for Keswick Hall, an impressive 80-room luxury boutique hotel nestled on 600 acres which recently re-opened in 2021 after renovations. Home to the prestigious Keswick Golf Club, Marigold Restaurant, by Jean-Georges, a new luxury spa and sports and aquatics center.  

The Bell Attendant is responsible for greeting and welcoming all guest to the hotel and relieve guests of their luggage on arrival.

Responsibilities

Duties include but are not limited to: 

 

  • Checks the daily arrival list for VIP's or guests with special need.
  • Be present at the front desk or in the lobby to be ready to assist guests, colleagues and visitors when requested.
  • Greet all guests upon arrival/departure.
  • Offer valet parking.
  • Ensure collection and delivery of guest luggage and equipment in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Tag baggage’s it and return the identification slips to guests.
  • Escorts guests to room, placing luggage in room assigned by front desk.
  • Promote all hotel facilities: restaurants, pools, recreational activities as well as local places of interests.
  • Explain in-room amenities, key operation, safety features, etc.
  • Inspects guest room for order and adequate supplies and informs guests of room amenities.
  • Delivers faxes, messages, packages and flowers to guests’ rooms and other offices.
  • Respond to guest requests and queries providing a knowledgeable, efficient and helpful information service.
  • Ensure the efficient delivery and collection of group luggage.
  • Ensure safe storage and collect ticketing of guest coats and personal items.
  • Help maintain a positive first impression of the hotel (pick up trash from the front circle, keep windows & bell carts clean).
  • Transport departing guest’s luggage from the room to the lobby, then into a car or taxi after reconfirming with the guest.
  • Collect and distribute post and packages.
  • Deal with general inquiries.
  • Ensure the lobby and front door areas are always clean and tidy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

 

Qualifications

  •  Minimum of high school diploma (or equivalent) and 0-2 years of experience working in a luxury 4 or 5 star hotel or service environment. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration. 
  • Previous experience in hospitality would be preferred and a commitment to delivering a high level of customer service.
  • Must possess knowledge of the community and area in which the hotel is located to assist guests with information on special events (sports, theater, movies, entertainment, and restaurants).
  • Be a good team player.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of early and late shifts.
  • Passion for customer service. 
  • Excellent communication skills and good levels of written and spoken English. 
  • Knowledge of Property Management software.
  • Basic Computer knowledge.
