The Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost is seeking a Student Employment Intern for the Fall 2026 semester.

In addition to the job duties and responsibilities outlined herein, this position will participate in a structured internship experience through the Transformational Federal Work-Study (TFWS) Internship Program.

If selected, the intern must enroll in either UNST 3910 (1 cr.) or UNST 3920 (1 cr.) for the Fall 2026 semester or, if course scheduling is a challenge, engage in an asynchronous co-curricular workshop series through Canvas. The intern will work directly with their supervisor to identify semester goals and will receive regular feedback related to key skills and competencies that align with future job interests.

This internship will require approximately 10 hours/week with a regular work schedule developed alongside the position supervisor. The position is best suited for undergraduate Federal Work-Study students in their 2nd – 4th years.    

The Student Employment Intern will be responsible for assisting in the office’s work related to employment of undergraduate and graduate students at the University. This could include: drafting communication to students and University employees, planning and managing event logistics, gathering and analyzing data, developing and managing social media content, creating resources for supervisors of student employees, and contributing to future planning and priorities related to student employment at UVA.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a high attention to detail, the ability to creatively problem-solve, and will value opportunities to work both independently and collaboratively to reach project goals.

In addition to the responsibilities outlined above, the intern may be asked to support other provost office initiatives, as needed.

No prior work experience is required, though photography experience is considered a plus.

The pay range is $17-$20 an hour.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
