ABOUT COMPANY

Agnikul Cosmos is a company incubated at IIT Madras and we build rockets that can take satellites up to 500 kg to Lower Earth Orbit (LEO). In May 2024, we successfully completed our maiden launch from our own launchpad (India's first private launchpad). The launch has proven all the new technologies developed by Agnikul and also earned recognition from Honourable Prime Minister of India.

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Design Engineer to join our Flight Structures team focused on designing and evaluating the dynamics performance of the vehicle.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for build of initial development hardware, ensuring efficient manufacturability and modifying design as needed.
  • Anticipate needed analyses and provide input throughout the design cycle.
  • Perform, document and present static, dynamic, model, thermo-mechanical, fatigue and fracture analyses.
  • Perform initial sizing analyses by hand calculation, detailed structural analysis using various FEA tools.
  • Perform detailed fluid system layout and/or mechanical design utilizing CAD and understanding of materials.
  • Seek out and evaluate state-of-the-art analysis techniques and tools.
  • Design, Identify and specify critical items such as Fasteners, machining parts, seals, forgings, etc.,
  • Coordinate and perform development and qualification efforts of hardware.
  • Design and build testing equipment or stands.
  • Manage the transition from development to production for flight quality hardware.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Proficiency in finite element analysis software.
  • Strong understanding of concepts of Strength of Materials, Failure Criteria and Structural mechanics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with rocket structure design and analysis.
  • A good knowledge in FEA software
  • A good understanding of Materials and its behaviours.
