Digital Matte Paint Artist (Short Term Contract)

JobDescription:

Digital Matte Painters (DMP) areresponsible for creating Matte-paintings and set extensions, eitherstandalone or to be integrated into both photo-real and stylizedlive-action environments. Thisposition requires a solid understanding of Matte Painting techniques as well asstrong creative talent.

Responsibilities:

• performing tasks related to integrating imagery into shots, preserving a unified sense of lighting, perspective, and color
  
• painting photo real environments, elements and textures for matching into live action plates or to stand on their own as DMP plates
  
• integrating matte paintings into 3D environments
  
• working with live action footage, still photography, and CG elements to create environments that can be flawlessly integrated into the project
  
•  Create matte paintings for sometimes complexcamera-mapping;
  
• Obtain a level of realism based on the artdirection of the project;
  
• Maintain the schedule given by the ProductionCoordinator;
  
• Perform tasks and corrections given by the ArtDirector by demonstrating analytical skill and pro activity;
  
• Organize the workload and prepare thepresentation elements for validations;
  
• Communicate and search for solutions andinformation when necessary;
  
•  Maintain a good team dynamic.
  

Requirements

• 2.5+ years of experience, specificallyworking as a concept artist. 
  
• Outstanding level proficiency with Photoshop,Painter or equivalent 2D/illustration software
  
• Good Knowledge of traditional painting anddrawing techniques is a plus;
  
• Deep understanding of human/creature anatomy,form, shape language, and silhouette
  
• Strong knowledge of weapon, armor, fashion andcostume design
  
• Self-motivated and creative individual withexcellent communication skills.
  
• Ability to work under pressure and be flexible
  
• Ability to coordinate with the team to meet deadlines in a short period
  
•  Self-initiation in taking up responsibilities totake up tasks and lead to the closure
  
•  A strong creative eye and a problem-solving attitude.
  
• Excellent traditional art skills in painting anda good understanding of composition and perspective are all an advantage.
