Job DetailsLevel: ExperiencedJob Location: Edinburgh Family Medicine - Chesapeake, VA 23322Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: High SchoolTravel Percentage: NoneJob Category: Clinical SupportThe Clinical Supervisor assists physicians and advance practice clinicians, provides continuous training of clinical staff.     Major Duties and Responsibilities    The clinical supervisor is responsible for the training of new clinical employees, under the direction of the OM, and the ongoing training of all clinical staff.  This is to include training on phlebotomy, lab materials and information, lab equipment and tools, specimen labeling procedures, documentation of in-house labs and outgoing specimens, proper storage of vaccination, injectables and labs, accurate tracking of vaccine and injection administration and inventory, training on new equipment, testing kits, and procedures, and reporting to the OM when errors are found in the clinical area.  The clinical supervisor is to maintain an inventory checklist of items the office frequently orders, inventory vaccines, medications, and supplies at least weekly, and order items as necessary.  The clinical supervisor is responsible for maintaining the lab manual, OSHA manual, SDS book, AAFP binder, and ensuring that clinical staff is properly documenting in lab logs and the immunization log.  The clinical supervisor is also responsible for ensuring that clinical staff has the tools required to perform the weekly lab QC.  The clinical supervisor acts as an MA (or LPN/RN, given the office), and assists providers by performing vitals, intake, phlebotomy, administration of vaccines and medications, performing EKGs, spirometry, vision tests, hearing tests, flushing ears, diabetic foot exams, assisting with PAPs and procedures, and other duties as requested by the providers, within the clinical supervisor’s licensing scope.  Responsible for completing referrals when applicable.    Other duties as assigned.  Compensation starts at $15.00 per hour, with the final hourly rate determined by the candidate's relevant experience and qualifications.
