Job Summary
The Morning Care Supervisor is responsible for providing a safe, welcoming, and structured environment for students before the start of the school day. This role involves supervising students during morning care hours, promoting positive behavior, facilitating age-appropriate activities, and ensuring a smooth transition to the school day. The Morning Care Supervisor serves as a positive role model and supports the mission and values of the school through professional and caring interactions with students, families, and staff.
Job Responsibilities
- Supervise and ensure the safety, well-being, and appropriate behavior of students during morning care hours.
- Greet students and families in a warm, friendly, and professional manner each morning.
- Monitor student interactions and encourage respectful, inclusive, and kind behavior.
- Organize and facilitate age-appropriate activities such as reading, drawing, puzzles, and quiet games.
- Maintain a calm, structured, and positive environment that helps students prepare for the school day.
- Ensure an orderly transition of students to teachers or classroom aides at the start of the school day.
- Follow all school safety procedures and promptly report concerns, incidents, or emergencies to school leadership.
- Maintain accurate attendance and supervision records as required.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with parents, faculty, staff, and administrators.
- Uphold school policies and model appropriate behavior at all times.
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience working with children in a school, daycare, church, or similar setting preferred.
- Ability to effectively supervise and manage groups of children in a calm and positive manner.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Dependable, patient, and professional with a positive attitude.
- Practicing Catholic preferred; candidates of other faith traditions must be respectful of and supportive of the school's Catholic mission and values.
- Ability to consistently work scheduled early morning hours.
