POSITION SUMMARY

 

Reporting to the Director and assigned instructor, the Accompanist provides musical support, usually on piano or guitar, for classroom instruction and course-related performances.

 

This is a part-time position not to exceed 950 hours per calendar year.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Play piano or guitar for class sessions as required, for a maximum of 22 hours per course per semester.

  • Accompany final class recitals, generally one-hour in duration, usually scheduled during a class session, but occasionally scheduled at a time other than the course’s regular meeting time.

 



  • Proficiency in sight reading and transportation.

  • Mastery of multiple styles of music - jazz, pop, musical theatre, classical, blues, etc.,

  • Ability to edit scores and sheet music as required.

 

Position Minimum Hourly Rate: $41.00

Position Maximum Hourly Rate: $51.00

The salary range provided in this posting reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Actual compensation offered or earned is dependent on experience, education and other factors including department budget.
