HeplerBroom LLC, a large defense firm, is currently seeking a licensed Associate Attorney with 2+ years experience in Professional Liability. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in Medical and Dental Malpractice and long term care defense. The position will be in our Chicago, Illinois office. This associate will handle matters in primarily in Cook but also in DuPage and other collar counties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough research, analysis, and interpretation of legal sources, including statutes, regulations, ordinances, court decisions, and legal opinions.
  • Independently manage a litigation caseload from inception to resolution.
  • Monitor case files to ensure compliance with deadlines, and investigate facts and legal issues to develop appropriate defenses and strategies.
  • Assist with document review and analysis.
  • Conduct depositions and appear regularly in court.
  • Support trial preparation and participate in the trial of professional liability cases.
  • Adhere to and follow client guidelines meticulously.
  • Communicate effectively and report appropriately to clients.

This position requires:

  • Good standing with the Illinois bar
  • Strong organization and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Deposition experience preferred
