Position Description

The Benefits Analyst supports the administration, analysis, and ongoing improvement of the company’s health and retirement benefit programs. This role partners closely with internal teams, external vendors, Crown Family households, and small businesses to support benefit audits, billing and funding processes, coverage comparisons, and individual health plan needs assessments. The Benefits Analyst also provides cross-functional administrative support for retirement plans, including 401(k), pension, SERP, and non-qualified plans, as well as health benefit plans such as insurance, FSA, HSA, and voluntary benefits. This position requires strong attention to detail, a service-oriented mindset, and the ability to prepare benefits-related analysis using data tools, including artificial intelligence and the company’s data warehouse.


 

Responsibilities:

  • Act as liaison with HCC HRIS, Vendors, Accounting, and operating companies’ HR teams in performing quarterly benefit audits and issue resolution and process improvement 
  • Provide administrative support for retirement plan processes, including 401(k), pension, profit sharing, SERP, and non-qualified plans 
  • Provide administrative support for health and welfare processes, including insurance, voluntary benefits, spending accounts, etc. 
  • Assist in annual compliance matters 
  • Audits payroll deductions and deferrals for accuracy and timeliness 
  • Establish and maintain effective and responsive relationships with Family Services department to deliver exceptional customer service and support for our small household benefit plans. 
  • Establish and maintain relationships with service providers to ensure timely and effective service solutions and problem resolution 
  • Assist in the calculation and administration of incentive plans.  
  • Provide administrative support for ACA 1095 / 5500 processing and filing 
  • Provide administrative back-up as leave administrator for corporate office employees 
  • Conduct employee benefit orientations as part of onboarding 
  • Performs benefit administration function for corporate office employees, including fielding questions regarding all benefit offerings 
  • Assist with annual Open Enrollment (i.e. BenefitSolver testing, OE communication review, etc.) 
  • Utilizes our data warehouse to monitor and identify trends to target cost-saving opportunities in our health plans. 
  • Support ongoing benefits initiatives as necessary and appropriate 
  • Participate in key vendor meetings and strategy sessions 
  • Provide administrative back-up for all benefit vendor billing 
  • Assist with other processes and projects, as needed


 

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, or related field of study  
  • 2-4 years in health benefits and retirement-related fields
  • Intermediate MS Excel ability (Iterative calculations, Nested IF Statements, Named Ranges, Formatting, VLOOKUP / Offset functions, Active X control form, etc.) 
  • Strong analytical capabilities, including attention to detail, problem solving, relative to working with complex data input / output and calculations 
  • Understanding of health and welfare plans, associated offerings, and the health insurance industry 
  • Understanding of retirement plans, including DC, DB, PS, SERPs and non-qualified plans 
  • Excellent listening and customer service skills 
  • Proficient in use of MS Office Suite
