Design Shop Order Coordinator

CHICAGO + WINNETKA, IL

Serena & Lily is seeking an order coordinator to support our Chicago and Winnetka stores. The role will based out of either store with travel between both. The Design Shop Order Coordinator will play an essential role in the management of Design Shop communication and issue resolution as well as customer service maintenance. The role will act as a liaison between Home Office and Design Shop team. The position requires a mindset of customer service and superb interpersonal skills.

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor and communicate order status updates to the sales team (including availability issues and backorder notifications).
  • Partner with Retail Operations to complete required order updates.
  • Monitor and reconcile order payment issues.
  • Partner with Retail Support on delivery challenges.
  • Partner with Customer Care in regard to order consolidation requests.
  • Process COM and Custom Upholstery Orders.
  • Assist with inventory receipt and organization; perform regular cycle counts.
  • Manage system Inventory Dashboard (for prompt receipts and fulfillments).
  • Any other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by Leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1-3 years of retail experience, interiors/home furnishings field preferred or 1-3 years as a Store Associate at Serena & Lily
  • Inventory management or warehouse experience preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to ask questions and seek solutions; self - starter
  • Microsoft Windows proficiency, especially Word and Excel
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong sense of personal style

Essential Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to process information and merchandise through computer system and POS system.
  • Ability to communicate with associates and clients.
  • Ability to read, count and write to accurately complete all documentation.
  • Ability to freely access all areas of the store including selling floor, stock area, and register area.
  • Ability to operate and use all equipment necessary to run the store.
  • Ability to climb ladders.
  • Ability to move or handle merchandise throughout the store generally weighing 0-50 pounds.
  • Ability to work varied hours/days to oversee store operations

COMPENSATION:

  • $21-26/hr depending on experience. This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this role. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: experience, education, and skills. Additionally, this role is eligible for a quarterly team based incentive.

Employees can enroll in our company’s 401k plan. During the first year of employment, full-time employees accrue fourteen days of PTO and seven paid holidays throughout the year.
