Job Description:

As the Sub-process Owner Maintenance (GPO), you will be accountable for the end-to-end governance, performance and proactive development of Asset Maintenance across the Downstream Retail businesses. This spans Asset Information Management and CMMS, Energy & Water Management, Equipment Maintenance and Management, Asset Strategy & Reliability, Safety Monitoring and EV Charging Operations. Asset Operations runs continuously across bp’s retail and EV charging estate, where process performance has a direct bearing on site availability, safety and regulatory compliance.

You will define the long-term process vision, objectives, design and transformation roadmap; own the process policies, controls and performance framework; and exercise the relevant decision rights across continuous improvement and process-related investment priorities.

You will work across business and functional groups, Sub Process Owners, Process Advisory Groups, Technology & Data and peer process owners to drive standardisation, adoption and continuous improvement across Asset Maintenance, while ensuring the process remains aligned to bp strategy and positioned for current and future success.

What you will deliver

  • Own the end-to-end Asset Maintenance processes and their governance. This includes process architecture, policies, standards, controls, roles and key hand-offs.
  • Define the long-term Asset Maintenance vision, objectives, design and roadmap. Ensure processes support safe, reliable and efficient asset performance and remain aligned to bp strategy and relevant asset-management practices.
  • Own the Asset Maintenance transformation roadmap across process, technology, people and data. Drive the evolution toward more standardised, data-led and proactive asset-management ways of working and ensure readiness for significant process change.
  • Exercise end-to-end process decision rights. Prioritise continuous improvements and process-related investments and governing material process changes, exceptions and deviations from agreed global standards. Hold final authority to set the global Asset Maintenance process standard and to grant or decline deviations from it across all markets.
  • Own process performance, compliance and value realisation, establishing critical metrics linked to end-to-end Asset Maintenance outcomes, monitoring process efficiency and compliance, and demonstrating the value delivered through improvement initiatives.
  • Use technology-enabled, data-driven insights to improve Asset Maintenance performance. Identify systemic issues, performance gaps and opportunities across asset-management processes and provide actionable insight to leadership.
  • Define business capability requirements for Asset Maintenance data and technology. Support strong governance and driving simplification and standardisation across CMMS, asset information, analytics and related digital capabilities.
  • Champion change, adoption and capability development across Asset Maintenance. Activate the process network, articulating the case for change and evolving organisational capabilities as Maintenance, Reliability, Asset Information and digital ways of working transform.
  • Drive cross-process collaboration, continuous improvement and innovation, managing dependencies across Asset Maintenance and connected processes. Use process-performance and maturity/assurance insights to identify improvement opportunities and work closely with HSSE where safety authority is required.

What you will need to be successful

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Operations, Business, Technology or another field relevant to Asset Operations. A Master’s degree/MBA or equivalent experience is advantageous but not mandatory. Lean, Six Sigma, process-management, programme/project-management or change-management qualifications are desirable.
  • Substantial relevant experience across asset management, maintenance, reliability, facilities or operations, asset information/CMMS, process management, operational excellence, transformation or related roles within a large, complex organisation.
  • Demonstrated accountability for a continuously operating, safety-bearing domain, where process failure carries direct consequences for asset availability, safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrated experience owning, designing or transforming end-to-end processes across multiple businesses, geographies or organisational units.
  • Strong experience establishing process governance, standards, performance indicators and decision rights and driving consistent adoption across a matrix organisation.
  • Proven experience shaping and delivering multi-year transformation and continuous-improvement roadmaps spanning process, people, data and technology.
  • Strong stakeholder-management and influencing capability, with the ability to create alignment and drive outcomes without relying on direct reporting authority.
  • Strong digital and data fluency, with experience using enterprise platforms, workflow/automation, analytics or process-intelligence capabilities to improve process performance.

You will work with

You will work across a global network of Sub Process Owners covering Asset Information Management / CMMS, Maintenance, Asset Strategy & Reliability, Energy Management and EV Charging Operations / CMMS, together with Process Advisory Groups, Market and functional leadership, BTC service teams, Technology & Data and peer Capability Leads to ensure Asset Maintenance operates effectively end to end.

You will also engage relevant external parties and experts where required to support the advancement of Asset Maintenance capabilities and ways of working.
