Development R&D Engineer

Job Description Summary

In this role the focus of your work will be powder development for structural PM steel applications. In addition, you will be expected to learn, support and develop other product families within the greater PM business. The incumbent will research technologies, support new product development programs, and improve steel powder processes using creative problem-solving and a hands-on approach in both the lab and production facilities.

Job Description:

  • Carry out specific assigned R & D projects on powder product development with a focus on improving products in performance and cost.  Communicate key results within the organization.
  • Plan, execute and interpret experiments to complete research deliverables.  Interface with customers, suppliers, marketing, and manufacturing departments to realize program goals.
  • Interface with global R&D team to align projects and attain strategic goals.
  • Provide technical support and training to other departments, sales reps, and customers on R&D related issues.

Required Skills and Education

  • Bachelors in Materials Science (Masters preferred). Other science and engineering degrees may be considered with a materials emphasis.
  • Knowledge of particulate materials, metallurgy, chemistry and manufacturing is preferred
