At Valmont, we're looking for a motivated and people-focused leader to join our team as a Production Supervisor in our Global Coatings Division. In this second-shift role, you'll play a key part in driving operational excellence, fostering a strong safety culture, and leading a team committed to producing high-quality products.


As a Production Supervisor, you will:

  • Lead, coach, and develop production team members to achieve safety, quality, and productivity goals.
  • Create a positive and engaged work environment by training, motivating, and supporting employees in their day-to-day responsibilities.
  • Champion workplace safety by ensuring all safety policies, procedures, and best practices are consistently followed.
  • Plan and coordinate staffing, work assignments, and production schedules to maximize efficiency and resource utilization.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and provide ongoing feedback to support employee success and development.
  • Monitor production activities and equipment operations to ensure safe, efficient, and effective processes.
  • Partner with quality teams to ensure inspection standards are met and customers receive products that exceed expectations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by encouraging employee involvement and identifying opportunities to enhance productivity, efficiency, and performance.
  • Apply company policies and procedures fairly and consistently while fostering accountability and teamwork.
  • Support onboarding and training efforts to help new employees integrate successfully into the team and workplace culture.
  • Maintain accurate production records, including employee timekeeping, production reports, overtime tracking, and downtime documentation.

Required Qualifications

  • Two years of experience in supervisory or management position with a proven record of strong leadership capabilities (excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills)
  • The ability to recognize hazardous substance and to know basic employee responsibilities for chemical safety
  • The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals
  • The ability to recognize and solve practical problems or issues
  • The ability to communicate and interact with coworkers in a positive manner
  • Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results

Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:

  • Five years of experience in a supervisory or management position
  • Steel Industry Experience a plus
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to support divisional business objectives
  • The ability to calculate figures such as pay changes for employees, proportions and percentages, and product dimensions
  • A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Outlook
