OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST (OT) DUTIES INCLUDE:  Performs a comprehensive evaluation and reevaluation of patient in regards to occupational therapy needs upon referral in a timely manner using tests and measurements of strength, balance, endurance, range of motion, and activities of daily living as appropriate. Based on the evaluation findings, a treatment plan will be established consisting of short and long term goals. Reevaluations of patients will be performed at least every 30 days as stated by current state regulations. The occupational therapist shall work with members of the interdisciplinary team in an effort to develop a treatment plan as appropriate. Findings from the initial evaluation shall provide a platform for a discussion with the patient and/or family members in regards to the frequency of treatments and expectations in accordance with the prescription from the referring physician. A qualified occupational therapist shall be present or readily available to offer supervision when an occupational therapist assistant or occupational therapy student administers treatment. Ongoing conversations regarding findings of initial evaluation, progression and discharge will take with occupational therapist assistant as needed Documentation will be completed accurately and in a timely manner in accordance with state laws. An occupational therapist will prompt necessary discharge from therapy services when appropriate.
