Nurse Manager - Pediatric Infusion Center and Hematology/Oncology Clinic

The Nurse Manager provides day-to-day leadership for the Pediatric Infusion Center and the Hematology/Oncology Clinic, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered care. This role partners closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to achieve exceptional patient outcomes while overseeing staffing, patient flow, and operational efficiency. The Nurse Manager monitors key quality and operational metrics, leads performance improvement initiatives, and fosters a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous excellence in support of children and families facing complex health needs.

A caregiver in this position will work M-F, days. 

A caregiver who excels in this role will: 

• Manage practice of professional nursing and delivery of nurse care on assigned unit. 

• Establish clinical direction for nursing care delivery, provide clinical supervision and maintain quality outcomes. 

• Collaborate with liaison departments in maintaining patient care standards, identify and resolve issues affecting the delivery of patient care services in a unit. 

• Develop quality initiatives and implement policies andprocedures to ensure efficient and effective delivery ofhealth services in a unit. 

• Develop and maintain unit-related patient care standardsthrough continuous quality improvement. 

• Maintain JCAHO and other regulatory standards. 

• Manage operation of unit. 

• Analyze personnel structure and determine staffing needsand mix. 

• Provide direction and supervision, evaluate performance,conduct selection and termination processes, and developstrategic plans. 

• Actively promote staff and self-development. 

• Participate in clinical nursing researchand supports foundation research activities. 

• Direct unit participation in evaluation of new products. 

• Approve purchases and establish or revise inventoryquotes. 

• Assist in the development and monitoring of the budget. 

• Other duties as assigned. 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

• Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) 

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) 

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through theAmerican Heart Association (AHA) or the American RedCross 

• If in a Critical Care area an Advanced Cardiac Life Support(ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Certification must be presented upon hire or within first year of employment  

• 3 years of recent clinical nursing experience, including at least 1 year of healthcare management experience 

• High degree of clinical expertise in the specialty area 

• Demonstrated leadership, management, communication, counseling, problem solving, decision making, conflict resolution and group process skills 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

• Hematology/Oncology and/or chemotherapy experience 

• Experience working with highly acute patient populations 

• Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN)
