Ship Fitter

Flexx Workforce of Louisiana is seeking experienced Ship Fitters for a work assignment in Cut Off, LA.

Candidates should have ship fitting, structural fabrication, and layout experience and be comfortable working in a shipyard environment.

Job Duties:

• Fit and assemble structural components for vessel construction and repair
  
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements
  
• Lay out, measure, cut, and fit steel components
  
• Use grinders, torches, and other fabrication tools
  
• Tack components into position for welding
  
• Check fit-up, alignment, and measurements
  
• Follow all jobsite safety requirements
  
• Work overtime and weekends as required
  

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Previous ship fitting or shipyard experience preferred
  
• Ability to read blueprints and fabrication drawings
  
• Knowledge of structural steel layout and fit-up
  
• Reliable transportation
  
• Dependable attendance
  
• Must complete required pre-employment screening
