TheThrift Store Manager provides leadership and oversight to Sheepgate’s thriftstore operations, ensuring excellence in customer experience, financialstewardship, and mission impact. This role blends retail management, teamleadership, and ministry influence, creating an environment where donors,shoppers, volunteers, and students encounter professionalism, purpose, andhope.

TheThrift Store Manager is responsible for all day-to-day operations includingsales performance, merchandising, donation intake, staff and volunteersupervision, inventory control, and operational systems. This individualensures the store runs efficiently, remains clean and organized, and reflectsSheepgate’s values in every interaction.

As one ofSheepgate’s micro-enterprises, the thrift store directly supports life-changefor men and women overcoming addiction. The Manager leads with strong businessacumen and a ministry heart, developing systems that maximize revenue whilefostering a healthy, accountable, and encouraging team culture.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily retail operations and store performance
  • Recruit, lead, train, and schedule staff, interns, and volunteers
  • Manage donation flow, pricing strategy, and inventory systems
  • Maintain visual merchandising standards and store cleanliness
  • Monitor financial performance, meet sales goals, and expense control
  • Build strong relationships with donors and community partners
  • Ensure excellent customer service and positive public representation of Sheepgate
  • Support and model Sheepgate’s mission and culture

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Management experience required (retail or thrift management an asset)
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a team
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
