Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our RN Flights - Neonate, you will apply the nursing process to alleviate human suffering and enhance quality of life by combining excellent medical care with appropriate and safe transportation for NICU patients in flight settings. Every day you will provide direct specialized patient care during neonatal transport, make critical medical decisions tailored to NICU patients, and collaborate with your team to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes. You will also extend hospital resources into the community and actively participate in professional growth and regional education. To be successful in this role, you will be a Registered Nurse with strong critical care nursing skills specializing in neonatology, expertise in flight transport, and the ability to work independently in high-stress environments.

 

  • Provides comprehensive, ageappropriate neonatal critical care during ground and air medical transport.
  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge and clinical expertise in the assessment, stabilization, and management of critically ill neonatal patients across the continuum of transport care.
  • Initiates and manages preventative, diagnostic, and therapeutic interventions in accordance with established protocols, medical control direction, and evidencebased practice.
  • Continuously assesses and interprets neonatal physical findings, vital signs, laboratory values, imaging, and other diagnostic data to guide clinical decisionmaking throughout transport.
  • Plans and implements resuscitation, stabilization and transport of critically ill and injured patients according to Patient Care Guidelines.
  • Maintains advanced knowledge of neonatal pharmacology, including safe preparation, administration, monitoring, and documentation of medications, blood, and blood products in compliance with hospital policy, transport standards and regulatory requirements.

 

We are offering up to $8,000 relocation assistance to new hires who meet the eligibility requirements

Job Requirements

Required

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • Current state RN license/ Current RN license from a participating state in National Licensure Compact
  • Three (3) years in Level III/IV NICU experience
  • Certified Neonatal Pediatric Transport required upon hire or within two (2) years of hire/transfer
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass the annual review of driving record for safe vehicle operations
  • Must maintain current on all certifications required by Commission for Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems 

 

Preferred

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • Five (5) years combined NICU years
