IMEG is hiring a Field Engineer in Austin, Texas, to provide on-site construction observation and coordination support on complex projects with a focus on data centers. This roleĀ representsĀ the owner's interest in the field, works closely with contractors and design engineers, and helps keep projects aligned with contract documents, quality expectations, and schedule needs.Ā 

The Field Engineer supports in-office engineering teams by tracking RFIs, submittals, and drawing revisions, documenting project status, and escalating issues that could affect progress or liability. This role also helpsĀ monitorĀ code compliance, safety protocols, and closeout documentation across industrial and manufacturing projects.Ā

What You'll DoĀ 

  • ProvideĀ on-site presence toĀ representĀ the owner's interest during construction.Ā 

  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to support projectĀ objectivesĀ and document meeting minutes.Ā 

  • WriteĀ daily reports on construction status, including schedule delays, issues, workflow summaries, upcoming work, and inspections.Ā 

  • Review, clarify, and interpret contract documents, and obtain information from design engineers as needed.Ā 

  • Issue and track project deficiencyĀ reports, andĀ provide constructability feedback to engineers.Ā 

  • Coordinate with the architect and design engineer on construction coordinationĀ issues, andĀ document project events and circumstances.Ā 

  • Track current drawings and ensure contractors have corrected revisions.Ā 

  • Monitor RFI and submittal completion by the designĀ team, andĀ communicate critical path items to the field and design team.Ā 

  • Help address construction issues and conflicts to keep work on track.Ā 

  • AssistĀ the client and design team with work observation and collection of closeout documentation from the contractor.Ā 

  • Support compliance with building codes, regulations, industry standards, and site safety protocols.Ā 

  • Prepare and present reports, progress summaries, and other documentation to senior management and clients asĀ required.Ā 

What You'll BringĀ 

RequiredĀ 

Education and ExperienceĀ 

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Science) in Engineering or equivalentĀ 

  • Professional Engineer (PE) LicenseĀ requiredĀ 

  • 2 years of experience minimumĀ required, 4 preferred; field experience or skilled trades a plusĀ 

Skills and AbilitiesĀ 

  • Ability to travel 100% and work onsite at assigned project locations, including extended overnight and long-term stays. Employees will be assigned to a project site and are expected to live and work in the project area until their next project assignmentĀ 

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to think critically and adapt to changing circumstancesĀ 

  • Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities, with a keen attention to detailĀ 

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely to individuals or groupsĀ 

  • Must be familiar with design processes and interpretation of architectural and engineering design documents including but not limited to structural, mechanical, civil, and electricalĀ 

  • Knowledge of design and construction principles, technical drawings, construction methods, materials, and safety regulations applicable to building and infrastructure projectsĀ 

  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and OutlookĀ 

  • Valid driver's licenseĀ required. Must be able to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background check and travel to construction sites as necessary to support project and business operationsĀ 

  • Ability toĀ acquireĀ a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) Card withinĀ 90 daysĀ of employmentĀ 

  • Complete Miner Safety Health Administration (MSHA) training within 30-days of employmentĀ 

PreferredĀ 

  • ProficiencyĀ in project management software and tools preferredĀ 

Physical RequirementsĀ 

  • Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk, see, hear, and lift objects up to 25 poundsĀ 

  • Required to drive, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach with hands or arms, and grasp or pullĀ 

  • Will have exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noisesĀ 

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computerĀ

State of Colorado Pay Range: $38-$45 per hourĀ 

The range listed aboveĀ representsĀ the base pay IMEG reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position in the work locationĀ identifiedĀ above at the time of posting. For positions available in multiple locations, the minimums and maximums may vary based on work location.Ā 

Individual compensation will beĀ determinedĀ based on job-related factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, abilities, and licensure and certifications.Ā
