The Ohio Department of Taxation is seeking to fill one (1) Software Development Specialist 1 position in the Information Services Division. 

What You’ll do as a Software Development Specialist 1:

  • Develop and modify program modules using technologies such as VB.NET, C# and SQL database.
  • Write and execute unit/system test cases; debug and revise programs to ensure desired results.
  • Assist in gathering requirements, documenting business process flows, and developing software solutions to business problems.
  • Provide post-production support, including maintenance, enhancements, and troubleshooting.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, user guides, and training materials.
  • Collaborate with peers and stakeholders to exchange technical information and lead focused discussions.
  • Support user acceptance testing, source control, and deployment activities.
  • Promote system security by adhering to agency and state IT policies.
  • Continuously learn new skills through training, seminars, and self-directed study.
  • Primary Technology: VB.NET, C#; Secondary Technology: SQL

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with software development tools, debugging, and version control.
  • Knowledge of databases and software development.
  • Strong problem solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with Fairfax software is a plus.

-Or equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.
