Wear a JCC Staff ID badge and attend appropriate staff meetings.        Position Summary: Guide JCC youth members in building healthy exercise habits through safe, engaging, and age-appropriate fitness activities.   Duties and Responsibilities: Engage youth participants and their parents in conversation; address them by first name; introduce yourself. Arrive five minutes early to set up equipment and space; conduct all sessions in a safe and effective manner. Design and lead age-appropriate exercise activities and games that build strength, coordination, and healthy lifelong habits. Adapt activities to accommodate a range of ages, abilities, and skill levels. Monitor participant safety and behavior at all times; address any concerns immediately. Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding participant progress and any concerns. Responsible for setting up and putting away equipment (mats, balls, cones, etc.) before and after each session. Responsible for picking up water bottles, trash, and other items left behind by participants after each session. If music is used, it will be appropriate for a youth audience and free of expletives or offensive content. Attend new hire orientation during first month of employment. All other duties as assigned. Qualifications Knowledge and Education - Minimum Required or Preferred: Nationally recognized Youth Fitness or Personal Training Certification required; High school Diploma/GED preferred; CPR/AED required. Experience - Minimum Required or Preferred: Minimum 1-year experience working with children or youth in a fitness, recreation, or camp setting. Special Skills: Strong communication with children and parents; patient and encouraging demeanor; ability to adapt activities to different ages and skill levels; outstanding customer service.
