Are you ready to see the code you write bring a real-world industrial plant to life? At ICM, you won’t spend your early career on the sidelines. As a Control System Specialist I, you’ll program PLC and DCS systems, build HMI graphics, and help start up the automated plants that are advancing renewable energy and sustaining agriculture. If you’re a curious problem-solver who’s eager to learn, take ownership, and grow alongside a team that invests in its people, we want to meet you.

What You’ll Do

• Build the brains of the plant: Develop DCS and PLC programs and design the HMI graphics operators rely on every day.

• Get hands-on in the field: Travel to plant sites to install software and computer equipment and help verify and start up automated industrial control systems.

• Solve real problems: Troubleshoot motor control circuits, process instrumentation, and electrical and automation issues at existing plants.

• Be a trusted resource: Support ICM clients, contractors, and field personnel as they bring electrical designs and automation to life.

• Work across teams: Partner with vendors and other ICM departments to procure materials and equipment, and generate electrical material requisitions for your projects.

• Bring your ideas: Share new ideas and methods to continuously improve our design process and equipment applications.

Where You’ll Grow

• Learn from experienced professionals: Start with hands-on training alongside our Automation and Electrical Engineering team, then build the confidence to work independently.

• Gain experience you can’t get in a classroom: Work on full project life cycles, from programming and HMI design to field installation, startup, and ongoing plant support.

• Broaden your technical toolkit: Build skills across DCS, PLC, HMI, AutoCAD electrical design, motor controls, and process instrumentation.

• See the bigger picture: Collaborate with clients, contractors, vendors, and teams across ICM to understand how an entire industrial project comes together.

• Grow your career with us: At ICM, we foster a culture of empowerment and continuous growth, where your initiative and ideas can open the door to new responsibilities and opportunities.
