Adelphi is seeking Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) to perform complex vocational nursing work at a State Supported Living Center in Corpus Christi, Texas. The ideal LVN will provide clinical care and services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities while working under the supervision of the Unit Registered Nurse (RN) and Unit Nurse Manager.

Requirements:
• Completion of an approved LVN program.
• Current, valid, and unencumbered Texas LVN license.
• Minimum of 1 year of direct-care nursing experience; 2+ years preferred.
• Experience providing care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is preferred.
• Experience with advanced nursing skills, including gastrostomy tubes/enteral feedings, Foley catheters, tracheostomies, and other complex patient care.
• Current CPR certification.
• Pass a background check and drug screening.


Responsibilities:
• Perform complex vocational nursing duties under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse and Unit Nurse Manager.
• Provide clinical care and services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Administer medications and perform prescribed treatments.
• Provide medication education and maintain accurate patient care documentation.
• Perform basic and complex nursing tasks to meet individuals' healthcare needs.
• Provide specialized care involving gastrostomy tubes, enteral feedings, Foley catheters, tracheostomies, and other advanced nursing procedures.
• Perform computer data entry and clinical documentation; training will be provided.
• Monitor patients and report changes in condition to the supervising RN.
• Provide for the care, treatment, safety, and general welfare of patients.
• Follow all agency, facility, and unit policies and procedures.
• Maintain current CPR certification.
• Maintain the strength and physical ability necessary to safely perform CPR and other required patient-care activities.
• Work assigned shifts and participate in the facility's rotational weekend schedule.
