Our full range of medical services include a new pavilion featuring enhancements in heart and vascular care, surgery, maternity, cancer care, and diagnostic imaging.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As an Invasive Technologist, you will prepare patients and assist physicians during invasive cardiac and vascular procedures, ensuring patient care and technical support.Every day you will set up sterile fields, manage specialized equipment, monitor patient hemodynamics, operate imaging systems, and maintain detailed documentation.To be successful, you will demonstrate expert technical proficiency, a comprehensive understanding of cardiovascular principles, and meticulous attention to detail in a high-pressure environment for successful outcomes.

  • Assists with pre-procedure education and preparing patients for procedure.
    • Collaborates with other staff to assure the patient has a thorough understanding of procedure and is able to answer questions as needed.
    • Assures the patient is positioned properly for the procedure.
    • Ensures EKG electrodes are properly placed and cardiac electrodes correctly applied.
    • Assured skin is prepped and sterilized appropriately prior to procedural draping.
    • Sets up patient and sterile equipment in accordance to the performing physician’s preferences.
  • Scrubs and assists physicians during procedures.
    • Assists physicians in sterile placement of invasive and hemodynamic monitoring equipment.
    • Uses fine motor skills to assist physician with the placement/deployment/use of invasive catheters, wires, balloons, stents, structural heart devices, Intra-aortic balloon counter-pulsation equipment, percutaneous left ventricular assist devices, implantable cardiac devices, and electrophysiology catheters/3-D intra-cardiac conduction mapping.
  • Performs monitoring function throughout procedures. Documents clinical information in patient records.
    • Operates hemodynamic monitoring equipment.â—¦ Recognize and report changes in the cardiac rhythm.â—¦ Recognize and report changes in hemodynamic waveforms.â—¦ Accurately documents the flow of events from start thru completion of procedure.
  • Performs arterial and/or venous sheath removal utilizing deployment of closure devices, manual pressure, or mechanical compression and transport patients.
  • Performs daily maintenance, quality assurance testing, equipment cleaning, and supply re-stocking.
  • Effectively communicates and works cooperatively with team members, patients, families, guests, and providers.

Required

  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist, within 6 - months and
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire and
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 6 - months
