Holtec Palisades seeks qualified applicants for the position of Designer in its Engineering department based at Palisades Nuclear Power Plant.

Palisades is positioned to become the first nuclear power plant in the United States to restart after previously entering the early stages of decommissioning. By joining our team, you will be part of a unique and historic undertaking for the nuclear industry and the nation!

Job Summary:

Designer/ Drafters are contributors to building and maintaining the design basis of the nuclear power plant. Drafters ensure configuration control and create products used through the organization to maintain and repair the plant.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creates technical drawings or designs for equipment, structures, electronics, and processes.
  • Coordinates with Engineering to ensure the accuracy and usability of plant design documents.
  • Reads, interprets, and applies information from manufacturer’s drawings, catalogs, and other information in creating design documents.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Required: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Desired: Associate degree in technical design or computer-aided drafting
  • Nuclear Power Plant experience preferred.   
  • Must have demonstrated proficiency in drafting standards, symbols, nomenclature, CAD tools, and engineering terms, including the use of materials, reference books and catalogs.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience / proficiency in PC use and applications, depending upon engineering level. 
  • CAD certification or similar training or experience desired.
