Your EverydayĀ 

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members and work alongside physicians, nurses, and therapists to ensureĀ optimalĀ outcomes.Ā 
  • Maintain andĀ advocateĀ a safe environment for everyone.Ā Ā 
  • Monitor and engage with your patients, families, andĀ appropriate careĀ team members concerningĀ significant events, patient condition changes, or patient questions and concerns.Ā Ā 
  • Develop a treatment plan and deliver clinicallyĀ appropriate,Ā timelyĀ andĀ accurateĀ evaluation and therapy services for patients with communication and swallowing disorders.Ā 
  • Evaluate and provide treatment for developmental disorders, clinical dysphagia, speaking valve and oral motor disorders and document results in the EMR.Ā 
  • Provide speech therapy to patients with various diagnoses usingĀ appropriate strategiesĀ based on patient’s age, evidence, and best practices.Ā 
  • Supervise students, clinical fellows, therapy technicians, and volunteers as neededĀ Ā 
  • Ensure continuity of care, efficient throughput, consistent communications, and an exceptional experience for every patient.   
  • Advise and consult with supervisor when unable to complete assignments or perform tasks promptly, effectively, or safely.Ā Ā 
  • Initiate patient and family education using appropriate resources.Ā Ā Ā 
  • Contribute to the team byĀ assisting others without being askedĀ 

The Must-HavesĀ 
Ā 
Minimum:Ā 

  • Master's Degree in Speech PathologyĀ Ā 
  • Licensed Speech Therapy through the Louisiana Board of Examiners forĀ Speech-LanguageĀ Pathology and Audiology.Ā 
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification.Ā
