Description

Job Summary:

The Material Handler II is responsible for performing a wide range of tasks related to material handling, customer service, and equipment operation. This position requires previous experience in a yard or warehouse environment and the ability to operate forklifts and other equipment safely.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate forklifts and other yard equipment with proper certification.
  • Load and unload trucks efficiently, ensuring materials are handled safely.
  • Assist customers with material selection, loading, and product inquiries.
  • Maintain accurate inventory by properly stocking, organizing, and rotating materials.
  • Perform basic yard maintenance to ensure a safe and organized work environment.
  • Follow safety guidelines and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Assist in coordinating deliveries and shipments as needed.
  • Provide guidance and training to Material Handler I employees.


Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in a yard, warehouse, or construction-related environment.
  • Forklift certification (or ability to obtain one within the first 60 days).
  • Ability to lift heavy materials and work in outdoor environments.
  • Basic knowledge of building materials and their applications is a plus.
  • Strong customer service and teamwork skills.
