Position Summary


Sapphire Technologies is seeking a hands-on Quality &Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to establish, lead, andcontinuously improve the company's quality-management and EHS programs. Thisposition is responsible for product and process quality, the quality managementsystem, ISO 9001 certification, supplier quality, workplace health and safety,environmental compliance, and related regulatory programs.

The role supports the industrialization and production ofcomplex electromechanical equipment, including rotating machinery andassociated electrical systems. It partners closely with Operations,Engineering, Supply Chain, Human Resources, and external specialists to ensureproducts and processes meet customer, regulatory, quality, environmental,health, and safety requirements.

This is a functional leadership role with significanthands-on involvement and will shape the quality and EHS systems of an emergingenergy-technology business as it industrializes new products and expands itsmanufacturing capabilities. The successful candidate will build practicalsystems for the company鈥檚 current scale while developing the processes andresource plans needed for future growth. The role will manage employees,contractors, consultants, and service providers as the function develops. Weare a growing company, and you will be responsible for hiring and interviewingactivities as we continue to scale.


Requirements

Key Responsibilities

路聽聽 Establish and maintain an effective qualitymanagement system aligned with ISO 9001, customer requirements, applicableregulations, and company needs.

路聽聽 Maintain ISO 9001 certification and surveillanceactivities, including internal audits, management reviews, quality objectives,corrective actions, document control, and certification-body coordination.

路聽聽 Establish inspection, acceptance, non conformance, material-review, corrective-action, change-control, andcalibration practices for incoming, in-process, and finished product.

路聽聽 Partner with stakeholders across theorganization on design reviews, production readiness, process-risk assessments,control plans, first-article activities, measurement methods, and processvalidation.

路聽聽 Own supplier and customer quality including,APQP and PPAP programs, audits, supplier-quality planning, qualification,phase-gate reviews, submission approval, performance monitoring, correctiveactions, and improvement in collaboration with Engineering, ManufacturingEngineering, Supply Chain, Program Management, and suppliers.

路聽聽 Develop, monitor, and continuously improve EHSprograms covering environmental protection, occupational health, workplacesafety, and regulatory compliance at local, state and federal levels

路聽聽 Lead hazard identification and risk assessments,including job hazard analyses, ergonomics, chemical safety, machine guarding,electrical safety, lockout/tag out, personal protective equipment, contractorsafety, and safe work practices.

路聽聽 Establish emergency-preparedness and responseprograms, including evacuation, fire and life safety, spill response, first-aidcoordination, and drills.

路聽聽 Oversee hazardous-material and waste practices,including chemical inventories, safety data sheets, labeling, storage,handling, disposal, and required records.

路聽聽 Develop and deliver quality and EHS training andmaintain required competency and training records.

路聽聽 Partner with the designated product-complianceowner on UL, CSA, CE, EMC, and other product-certification activities bysupporting configuration control, records, production conformity, suppliercontrols, corrective actions, and certification-related audits.

Qualifications

路聽聽 Bachelor's degree in engineering, qualityassurance, quality systems, manufacturing, industrial technology, or a relatedtechnical discipline, or an equivalent combination of relevant education anddirectly applicable experience.

路聽聽 8+ years of progressively responsiblemanufacturing-quality experience, including quality systems, product andprocess quality, supplier quality, non conformance, corrective action, and auditresponsibilities.

路聽聽 3+ years leading employees, cross-functionalprograms, contractors, or external service providers.

路聽聽 Demonstrated experience implementing ormaintaining an ISO 9001 quality management system and supporting certificationor surveillance audits.

路聽聽 Demonstrated experience with supplier APQP andPPAP, including PFMEAs, control plans, measurement-system analysis,process-capability studies, first-article or production-trial evidence, andsupplier submissions.

路聽聽 Demonstrated experience leading or administeringenvironmental, health, and safety programs in a manufacturing or industrialenvironment, including regulatory compliance, hazard assessment, incidentinvestigation, training, and record-keeping.

路聽聽 Ability to interpret engineering drawings,specifications, customer requirements, standards, and regulatory obligations.

路聽聽 Strong project-management, communication,facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills.

路聽聽 Ability to combine hands-on execution withfunctional leadership in a growing organization.

路聽聽 Experience with ERP or electronicquality-management systems and digital document-control tools

Preferred Qualifications

路聽聽 Experience with complex mechanical,electromechanical, electrical, energy, aerospace, industrial, orrotating-equipment products.

路聽聽 Experience supporting new-product introduction,manufacturing scale-up, factory startup, relocation, or contract manufacturing.

路聽聽 Experience with ISO 14001 or ISO 45001management-system principles.

路聽聽 Quality certification such as ASQ CertifiedManager of Quality/Organizational Excellence, Certified Quality Engineer, orCertified Quality Auditor is preferred. EHS certification such as CertifiedSafety Professional or Certified Industrial Hygienist is also valued.

路聽聽 Experience with environmental permits,hazardous-material and waste programs, industrial hygiene, emergency response,or contractor safety.
